Angela René Jackson

Our beloved Angela Rene Jackson, 67, passed away on October 17, 2025. Born on May 16, 1958, in Huntington, WV, to Samuel Jackson and Geraldine Jackson (Rotan), Rene's gift for guidance and inspiration touched the lives of her children, students, and countless others seeking direction. She furthered her education at Marshall University and later was a favorite amongst many schoolchildren that she taught over the years in West Virginia and Kentucky. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home. Rene's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her warm smile and amazing hugs were legendary in the neighborhood. A listening ear and sage advice made her a confidante to many. As a mother and grandmother, Rene instilled her strong values and religious beliefs in her family. She led by example, opening her home as a safe haven to several over the years. Rene's home was a haven of prayer and support, not just for her children but for countless others in need of guidance and comfort. She never wavered in her compassion for others. Rene was a big personality in a small package. She had an impact on each person she interacted with (including her fur babies). She was a warrior that was full of courage, inspirational, kind, loving, full of joy, a ball of fire that showed us that it is possible to praise God through any storm, while having determination and persistence. She found a reason to keep going despite the many tragic events she was faced with time and time again. Her greatest joys and accomplishments came from being a loving human being. She was nothing short of a pillar of strength, bravery, and unyielding positivity. Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel L and Geraldine Jackson; two brothers, Samuel Jackson II, and Jonathan "Bro" Jackson; two wonderful sons, Brandon Jackson and Eric "Scotty" Jackson; daughter-in-law, Tessa Jackson... we are certain that a beautiful reunion is in progress with them all. Survivors include her loving children, Chante' "Baby Doll" Mandola (Robert Baker) of Lexington, KY, and Joshua "Pooh bear" Mandola of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Trinity Jackson "Woo", Mekhi "Scooter Pooter" Dove, Erikai "Kai" Jackson, and Davian Jackson; "baby girls", LaTisha Figg, Beaulah Frazier, both of Columbus, and Megan Elizabeth of Huntington; two sisters, Tara Jackson and Tammy Jackson; sister-in-law, Greta Jackson; nephews, David Wade II, Dominique Wade, and Nicholas Jackson; niece, Ashley McKinney; great nieces, Marianna Patterson, Maniya Foster, and Londyn Wade; great- nephews, Joel Smith and Samuel Wade; aunts, Eva Layne, Rebecca Walker, Shirley Rotan, Cathi Rotan, Freddy Hardy, and Constance Beavers; special friends, Gina Johnson, Marie Duff, and Tonia Kay Page, along with a host of cousins, family, and friends. A memorial service will be conducted, 12:00 P.M., Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Huntington, WV with Pastor Emeritus Reginald Hill officiating.
