Brandon L. Jackson

Brandon Lamont Jackson, 38, was called home to be with the Heavenly Father on December 8, 2014. Brandon was born in Huntington, WV on September 5, 1976 to Angela Rene' Jackson Shearer and Calvin Vinson. Brandon was wise beyond his years and was always there to mentor his siblings, cousins, and friends. Brandon could share his wisdom on a variety of subjects, from the Bible, to sports, to current events in the news. He was always willing to listen and encourage others and his impeccable sense of humor could brighten any situation. Brandon was a loving father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, and cousin and deeply loved all of his family. Most of all, Brandon loved the Lord and became active in his church and was ordained as a deacon while he lived in California. In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, who he called his princess, Trinity Jackson; son, Davian Jackson; beloved grandmother, Geraldine Jackson; brother, Eric Scott Jackson (Tessa); sister, Chante' Mandola; brother, Joshua Mandola; Aunts, Tara McKinney (Noah) and Tammy Snowden (Reggie); nephews, Erikai Jackson and Mekhi Dove, special cousin, Nicholas Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Brandon was preceded in death by his grandfather, Samuel Jackson and uncles, Jonathan "Bro" Jackson and Samuel Jackson, Jr. Brandon graduated from Huntington High School in 1994 and graduated from Marshall University with an Associate Degree. While at Marshall University, Brandon was involved in several activities including being a Student Assistant in the African American Students Program office, a member of the NAACP, and a member of Black United Students. He was currently employed by Amazon. He was previously the Program Coordinator for the My Brother's Keeper and CRUSAIDS program at Ebenezer Medical Outreach and was formerly a freelance writer with The Herald-Dispatch. Brandon chose Full Gospel Assembly as his place of worship. All who knew Brandon will deeply miss him because he touched so many lives with his candid honesty, wisdom, and especially his humor. A Celebration of Brandon's Life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Full Gospel Assembly Church, with Bishop Samuel R. Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
