Gwendolyn Carol Lloyd Blevins December 24, 1939 – June 11, 2025 Gwendolyn Carol Lloyd Blevins, 85, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away at her home on June 11, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 12:00 a.m. at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home in Huntington, with Pastor E. Harper officiating. Her ashes will be laid to rest between her parents at Spring Hill Cemetery. Gwen was born on December 24, 1939, to the late Alma Marie Johnson Lloyd and Raymond Eugene Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, William T. Moore II, and her sisters: Gloma, Pat, Kate, and Gayle. A woman of deep faith, service, and strength, Gwen dedicated her life to her family, friends, church, and community. She was a devoted member of Apostolic Life Cathedral, served as Vice President of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and was an active historical reenactor for Guyandotte Civil War Days. Gwen retired from Big Lots, where she was a valued and dedicated employee. She is survived by her children: Carol Moore of South Point, OH; Jeffery Moore (Angie) of Huntington, WV; Angie Blevins Hendrick (Steve) of Lesage, WV; and her stepson, Timmy G. Blevins of Huntington, WV. Gwen’s legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren: Timothy (T.J.) Slash (Carey), Jason Slash, Jessica Slash, Jeffrey (Adam) Moore (Nikki), Jennifer Moore, Alex Day (Jeff), Ryan Hendrick, Lauren (Ryan) Hendrick Edwards, Jenna Hendrick, Shane Blevins, and Jacob Blevins. She also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren: Tianna Slash, Braelyn Slash, McKhala Lafon (TJ), Maddox Slash, Ava Slash, Cayden Wood (Jessica), Lillian Moore, Colton Moore, Amari Johnson (Jeff), Adelyn Edwards, Mason and Malory Blevins, Alias, Roman, and Issabella Blevins; and one great-great-grandchild, Ayden Elmore (Tianna). Gwen is also survived by two cherished friends, Millie Johnson and Sandy Fletcher, her dear cousin Frank B. Lloyd of California, and several special nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gwen’s memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Lexington, KY, or to her beloved church, Apostolic Life Cathedral. She will be remembered for her compassion, faith, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
