Kenneth Lee Johnson, 62, of Huntington, WV passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born April 6, 1962, in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Jean Elizabeth Johnson. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Jazmyne, sister, Sharon (Roy), nephew, Eran, great-niece, De’Shanay, and a host of cousins. Kenneth graced this world for 62 years, filling it with his hardworking spirit, dependability, and unwavering reliability. From his birth, he was a constant in my life. For those 62 years, I had the privilege of knowing him not just as my brother, but as a friend, and confidant. From a young age, he demonstrated a tenacity and work ethic that would define his life. Kenneth was a skilled handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity and willingness to assist others made him a beloved figure in the community. He provided lawn service throughout the community and had an unwavering dedication to maintaining our lawns. He took great pride in his work, and his attention to detail was second to none. It seemed you couldn’t go anywhere without someone recognizing him, which speaks volumes about the impact he had on those around him. One of the most endearing qualities about Kenneth was his love for cars. He took immense pride in keeping them immaculate, never allowing a speck of dirt to mar their beauty. And when he wasn't working on cars, you could find him cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys. His passion for the team was as strong as his love for a perfectly cooked piece of fried chicken. If you ever find yourself enjoying a piece of chicken, think of Kenneth and the joy it brought him. These small, cherished memories keep his spirit alive in our hearts. Kenneth's life was also marked by the love he shared with those around him. You could always find him at his nephew, Eran’s house, bringing him food or fixing something around the house. Though his marriage to Vicki Johnson ended, their friendship endured, a testament to the kindness and respect he held for those he loved. Together with Tiffany Smith, Kenneth was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Jazmyne, His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and his presence will be deeply missed. I was always thankful that whenever Roy or I called, he would say he would be right over to fix it. In the last three years, Kenneth faced the challenge of dialysis with the same courage and resilience he brought to everything in life. Though it took much from him, it could never dim the light he brought into our lives. As we remember Kenneth let us hold on to the joy he found in simple pleasures and the love he shared so freely. I invite you to reflect on a favorite memory of Kenneth, perhaps while enjoying a piece of fried chicken in his honor. May we carry his legacy forward with love, laughter, and kindness, just as he would have wanted. Thank you, Kenneth, for everything. You will be forever missed but never forgotten.
