Ms. Lucinda Akins-Page, 88, of 1670 9th Avenue, Huntington, WV departed this life on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born on August 27, 1928 in Spray, NC. She was the youngest of Mrs. Lillie Mae Robinson Akins-Carter's five children. Lucinda attended school in McDowell County, which included Premier Elementary School, Welch Dunbar Junior High School and Kimball High School. One of her greatest adventures after school was to travel and see the world. Her travels included West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois and as far as Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She worked a few years for private families, which gave her a chance to travel. Later, in life, she was employed by Welch Bus Station Grill as a waitress. During her travels, she met and married her husband Kenneth Alonzo Page. They later moved to Huntington, WV. She always kept Christ in her life and later joined the Sixteen Street Baptist Church. She was a faithful member and served on the Usher Board. She kept busy by attending the Senior Citizens Center daily. Lucinda was also the Treasurer for the Senior Citizen Center Activity Board. She was very active until her health did not allow her to participate any longer. Any time you would call her, she never would complain about how she felt. She would always say, "God is Good" & "I Won't Complain." Lucinda was employed at the Cabell Huntington Hospital. She worked there for 35 years and retired. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband for over 50 years, Kenneth Arlonzo Page; her mother, Mrs. Lillie Mae Robinson Akins Carter; her Step-Father, Mr. Sterling Carter; one sister, Mrs. Viola Elizabeth Akins Fluellen Wray; two brothers, Ernest Akins and Alexander Akins, Sr.; and one uncle, Henry Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory; one brother, David Lindsey Akins, Sr. of Boston, MA; devoted nieces, Mary Elizabeth Wilkins (Clinton) of Boston, MA, Renee Lee (Jeffrey) of Cleveland, OH, Sharon Utley of Boston, MA, LeJuene Colbert (Robert) of Huntsville, AL, Alice Martin of Cleveland, OH, Clarissa Akins (John Snider) of Boston, MA and Heather Crowder (Howard) of Roanoke, VA; devoted nephews, Donald Lee Akins of Lawton, OK, Lewis Green (Darlene) of South Point, OH, Joseph Fluellen (Barbara) of Cleveland, OH, Michael Akins (Luberta) of Raleigh, NC, Kenneth Akins of Lawton, OK, Larry Akins of Boston, MA and Jerome Thomas of Roanoke, VA. Also, surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friends and her church family. She also leaves her Care-Giver, Ms. Yolanda "Cissie" Fitzpatrick who was entrusted with her care until the end. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon, Friday, June 30, 2017 at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church with Bishop Samuel R. Moore, Pastor officiating. Family will welcome friends one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. FC17-056
