Virginia Ruth Frazier

Virginia Ruth Frazier Of Huntington, WV., passed away March 30, 2025 at the age of Seventy-Six years, Eleven months and Thirteen days. She was born April 17, 1948 to the late Thomas McGhee and Ruth Mae Scott and is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Frazier III; grandmothers, Alice Scott Mitchell and Virginia McGhee; grandfathers Lee Scott Sr. and Grandfather McGhee; five siblings, Thomas McGhee Jr., Austin McGhee, Beverly Dickey, Cornelius McGhee and Danny Ewing Jr.; and one grandson, Nazier Swann Johnson. Virginia was a member of Young Chapel AME Church, where she was part of the Senior Usher Board, and ran the Youth Usher Board. Her involvement in her beloved church did not end there, she was also a Sunday School teacher and assisted her sister at AME’s Transportation Ministries. She helped organize the Douglas Huntington High School Black Alumni Reunion and was a member of the NAACP. Virginia worked at the Cabell County Courthouse for many years and was also a job developer at Tristate OIC. She worked in both Charleston and Huntington for the State of West Virginia job services, later retiring from there in Huntington. Virginia loved her Pittsburgh Steelers and music. She was an amazing mother and tried her best to help anyone who asked her. Her goal was to make everyone feel welcomed and loved in her own special way. Those left to cherish her memory include two children, Brian (Amy) Frazier and Courtney Frazier; two siblings, Gay (Burnette) Dotson and Lilly (Michael) Relf; five grandchildren, Miana Frazier, Joshua (Morgan) Frazier, Xavier Frazier, Cortana Johnson, and Zion Frazier; six great grandchildren, Dashawna Frazier, Quenton Frazier, Jayden Frazier, Jacoby Frazier, Jordan Frazier and a baby on the way; nieces, Nicole McGhee, Danyale McGhee, Genita Bailey, Kristan Brown, Beaulah Frazier, Kelly Mcghee ,LaShawnda Ewing, Crystal Ewing, Maechele Relf, Tyrecka Relf; nephews, David Frazier, Chris Canady Eric Mcghee, Ronald Ewing, Chris Ewing, Justin Ewing, Maurice Ewing and a host of close family and friends. A Memorial Service will be conducted 1:00 P.M, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Young Chapel A.M.E, with Pastor David Wade officiating. Visitation will be conducted from 12:00 P.M to 1:00 P.M, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Young Chapel A.M.E. A private family repast will be held following the committal service.
