Dale Jean "Jeannie" Yoho Wheeler

Dale Jean "Jeannie" Yoho / Wheeler (1952–2024) Jeannie was always the happy, free spirit, and never met a stranger. Dale Jean Wheeler, 74, of Hurricane, passed after a long battle with cancer on November 15, 2024. She was born in Huntington in 1952 to Dale and Mary Anne Yoho. She attended Milton High School before studying to be a Paralegal at Marshall. Though she completed her studies her love to travel and meet new people lead her to become a commercial truck driver. Jeannie loved being on the road and driving. She drove for many years getting to see some of the best sites around the US and Canada. She always came home with stories of places, people she had seen. She combined this with a passion for photography and always bringing home some amazing photos. Besides photography, Jeannie also loved to read, work with arts and crafts. She left numorours photos and hand painted crafts, like bird houses, to remember her by. Jeannie had a soft spot for their furry friends, treating each and every one like one of the family. She espcially loved cats. To the point that for many years she was a registered breeder of Exotic Shorthairs. Every litter born were new family members and treated as such. Though she retired many years ago her granddaughter still has two of her last litter. Both of these boys are pushing 18 years old. Though she loved the traveling, craftwork, and her cats, Jeannie's favorite role was that as a grandma. She loved her time with her granddaughter, never failing to live up to the phrase spoil them rotten. Jeannie loved to take her out and about for small adventures. Though her granddaughter was much more reserved everyone knew you didn't argue with grandma Jeannie when she set her mind to something. Jeannie made many friends through out her life, but one has always stood out. June and Jeannie were friends since school, and even when separated over long periods of time they always reached out and made time for each other. June credited Jeannie of setting her up with her beloved husband Roger. It was a life long friendship as June was always helping her and by her side during her battle. Jeannie will always be remembered for her spirit. Her free spirit that kept her constently moving and traveling. Her loyal spirit in the ways she would drop anything to help family or friend. From giving them shelter in times of need or staying with them when they needed help. For her strubborn spirit that may have lead to some contention, but it always came from a good place. Back to you didn't argue with grandma that even her equally stubborn granddaughter learned. Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband Kevin, and is survived by her son Brian, granddaughter Fallon, and her sisters Theresa and Jane. A small memorial for family and friends is 5pm Dec. 5th at Beulah Ann Baptist Church, Ona WV. Donations to https://lcfamerica.org/donate/ would be greatly appreciated.
